クリンキンビーチ｜恐竜が見守る楽園（A Dinosaur’s Paradise）
ペニダ島で最も有名なスポット、クリンキンビーチ。
その断崖を見下ろした瞬間、まるで巨大なティラノサウルスが海へ向かって突き出しているような地形をしています。
伝説によると、この恐竜は島の守護者で、訪れる者を静かに見守っているといいます。
崖を慎重に降りていけば、真っ白な砂浜とエメラルドグリーンの海が迎えてくれ、まるで守護者が許可を与えた者だけに見せる秘密の楽園です。
ただし、崖を下るには危険な階段を降りていくため時間と体力が必要です。
おおよそ下るのに30分、上がるのに1時間。

According to legend, this dinosaur-shaped cliff is the island’s guardian, silently watching over visitors. Descend the steep stairs to reach a pristine white sand beach and emerald green waters – a secret paradise revealed only to those who earn the guardian’s favor. However, the climb is challenging, taking about 30 minutes down and an hour back up. For easier access in the future, a glass elevator is under construction.

Roundtrip transportation typically includes hotel pickup. The area is bustling with ferry companies, shops, and crowds. Visit the ticket counter of your chosen ferry company to get a wristband before heading to the port entrance. Prepare for steep and challenging paths to many scenic spots. Comfortable footwear and good physical condition are recommended.
Toya Pakeh Harbour（トヤパケ）｜Penida Island
ペニダ島に到着すると、島に入るための税金入島税（一人あたり25,000ルピア（約250円））を支払う必要があります。周辺には寺や像があり地元の人たちがお参りする姿が見られる素朴な島で、バリと同様ほとんどの人がヒンドゥー教です。独自の文化があり、言語は基本的にバリ語ですが、訛りが強く、同じバリ語を使っても全く意味が通じないことがあるそう。島の北西部はサンゴ礁に囲まれ、シュノーケリングに最適です♪
インフラがまだ整っていない未開拓の場所もあり、道路事情が悪いですが、これまで見たこともない圧倒的な自然の姿に出会えること間違いなしです。

Upon Arrival at Nusa Penida : When you arrive at Nusa Penida, you’ll need to pay an island entry tax of IDR 25,000 per person (approximately 250 JPY). The island has a rustic charm, with temples and statues scattered around where locals can often be seen worshipping. Like Bali, most residents practice Hinduism. The island boasts a unique culture, and while Balinese is the primary language, the strong local dialect can make communication challenging, even for those fluent in Balinese. The island’s northwest is surrounded by coral reefs, making it ideal for snorkeling. While some parts of the island remain undeveloped with poor infrastructure and rough roads, the chance to witness its breathtaking, untouched natural beauty is well worth the effort.
Angel’s Billabong
港から車で約30分西側を走ったところにあるエンジェルズビラボン。
別名、天使の水溜りと呼ばれ、ラグーンの形成をした天然のインフィニティープールです。
満潮時にはプールが波の下に消えてしまうので、干潮時に観にいくのがおすすめです。
天使がここで水遊び（入浴）するのを想像してみてください。
ターコイズブルーや紺碧、オレンジ色と鮮やかにきらめく色彩が神秘的で、美しくて感動しました♡
撮影スポットとして有名なので、至る所で長い列が出来てたけど、私も崖ギリギリのところまで行き、撮影しました♪
ここは、干潮時であれば下に降りて水浴びをする事もできます。
水たまりは浅いですが、滑りやすいので注意。
また、階段等の道はないので、岩場を降りたり上がったりする必要があります。
滑ったり落ちないよう注意してください。
満潮時はプールが消え海に引きすり出されたり、岩に衝突した波が危険ですので入らないでください。
エンジェルズビラボンでは、入場料はかかりませんが、崖の頂上の駐車料金を支払う必要があります。

Located about a 30-minute drive west from the port, Angel’s Billabong is a natural infinity pool also known as the “Angel’s Water Pool.” This lagoon-like formation is best visited during low tide, as the pool disappears under the waves at high tide. Imagine angels splashing and bathing in this magical spot!
The vibrant colors of turquoise, deep blue, and orange shimmer beautifully, creating a mystical and breathtaking scene. As a famous photo spot, long lines form throughout the area, but I still made it to the edge of the cliff for a photo!
During low tide, you can climb down and wade into the water. Although the pools are shallow, the rocks can be slippery, so caution is needed. There are no stairs or paved paths, so you’ll need to climb up and down rocky terrain. Be careful to avoid slipping or falling.
At high tide, the pool becomes dangerous due to strong waves that can drag you into the sea or crash you against the rocks—do not enter the pool during this time.
Admission to Angel’s Billabong is free, but there is a parking fee at the cliff-top area.
Broken Bay
エンジェルズビラボンから西側へ徒歩5分ほどの場所にあるブロークンベイ。
波が岸壁を侵食し穴をあけ、トンネルのような自然が作り出した岩の造形が珍しいとされた人気のスポットです。
トンネルの内側は湾となっており、ここでも水浴びができますが、私が行ったときは、波も高く、流石に誰も泳いでいませんでした。
水の透明度は想像を超えるほど。
エンジェルズビラボンからは歩いて移動し、ここでもギリギリのラインの場所に座わり撮影。
サラサラ砂が滑りやすくて怖かった！
岸壁は橋のようになっていたので歩いて奥まで行けますが、今回は次のポイントへ行くのに時間がかかるためこの景色を目に焼き付けての移動です♪

About a 5-minute walk west from Angel’s Billabong is Broken Bay, a natural rock arch created by waves eroding the cliffside. This stunning formation has become a popular destination. The inner area of the arch forms a bay where swimming is possible, though when I visited, the waves were too high, and no one was in the water.
The water’s transparency was beyond my expectations. I walked from Angel’s Billabong and sat near the edge of the cliffs for a photo, though the loose sand was slippery and quite scary!
The rock bridge allows visitors to walk further in for a better view, but I opted to move on to my next destination to save time. The scenery here is unforgettable and worth every moment spent taking it in.
Kelingking Beach
ペニダ島の中で圧倒的におすすめな秘境！
人生で一度は見たい体感したい絶景ポイントです♡
Banaha Cliff Karang Dawa View Point | バナハ クリフ カラン デワ ビューポイント
断崖を見下ろした瞬間に現れるのは、巨大なティラノサウルス型の島。
実際にどんなものなのかなって思って見下ろしたら、本当に恐竜が現れ、期待以上の光景でした！
丘の高さにも驚愕しますが、Tレックス型の島を見下ろす事ができるなんでかなり感動です♡
その姿を見ようと多くの人が訪れてましたが、やっぱりここは最高の撮影スポットです。（納得！）
崖ギリギリのところに座ったり立ったりして、私も撮影頑張りました！
正直、何度もゾワゾワしてめちゃくちゃ怖かったです（涙）。
また、ここから崖を下っていくと、クリンキンビーチへ辿り着きますが、行くまでの道のりはとても危険！です。
灼熱の日差しを浴びながら、傾斜の強い坂道を、手作りの様な階段30分以上降りて行かないといけなくて、さらにちゃんとした道ではないのでビーチサンダルで降りるのは現地の方もおすすめしません。
できればスニーカーなどに履き替えるようにしてくださいね。
厳しい道のりに事故、灼熱の温度の熱中症などかなり危険性が高いのですが、観光客は頑張ってしまうんでしょうね。
この過酷さゆえに、現在崖上では大きなクレーン作業が行われ、ガラス貼りのエレベーターを建設中です。
絶景を眺めながらより安全にビーチへ行けるよう考えて建設しているようです。

This is the most stunning hidden paradise on Nusa Penida, a place everyone should see at least once in their life!
When you gaze down from the cliff, you’ll see a massive T-rex-shaped rock formation that seems to guard the ocean. I wondered how realistic it would look, but seeing it in person far exceeded my expectations—it truly resembled a dinosaur!
The sheer height of the cliffs and the ability to look down on the T-rex-shaped island were awe-inspiring. Unsurprisingly, it’s one of the best photo spots, attracting many visitors. I also ventured to the cliff’s edge for photos—though it was nerve-wracking and quite scary!
For those adventurous enough, you can descend to Kelingking Beach below, but the journey is extremely dangerous. The path consists of steep slopes and handmade stairs, taking over 30 minutes to descend under the scorching sun. Flip-flops are not recommended, and it’s best to switch to sneakers for safety.
The journey is risky, with dangers like accidents and heatstroke, yet tourists still brave the trek. Due to the challenging access, a glass-walled elevator is currently under construction at the cliff-top, allowing visitors to safely reach the beach while enjoying the breathtaking view.
Kelingking Beach｜クリンキンビーチ
崖を降りた先に現れるのは、真っ白い砂浜に迫力ある高い波が続く、絶壁に囲まれた小さなビーチ。
一度は訪れたいビーチです。
降り立った時は、観光客もあまりいないので秘境感が漂いとても素敵♪
波は高いので注意して遊んでくださいね。
ただし、ビーチにはお店などはないので、水筒やペットボトルなど飲みものは持っていってくださいね。
たまにお猿さんにも出会えるようです。

Once you reach the bottom, you’ll find a small beach surrounded by cliffs, with white sands and powerful waves. It’s a must-visit location, offering a serene, secluded vibe with fewer tourists.
While playing in the waves, be cautious of their strength. Note that there are no shops at the beach, so bring water bottles or a thermos. Occasionally, you might even spot monkeys nearby!

今回、時間がなくて行けなかったおすすめのビーチ
ペニダには沢山のスポットが点在していますが、日帰りの場合は基本西側のみが多く、宿泊であれば東側まで足を伸ばしてみてください。

Recommended Beaches I Couldn’t Visit This Time
Nusa Penida is home to many scenic spots. For a day trip, most itineraries focus on the western side of the island. However, if you’re staying overnight, consider venturing to the eastern side.
Diamond beach ダイアモンドビーチ｜海の宝石箱
港から車で約1時間ほど走ると、ダイヤモンドビーチとアトゥビーチが見えてきます。
ダイヤモンドビーチは入場料が必要となります。
澄んだ青い海とホワイトサンドに、三角に尖がりダイヤモンドの形をした岩が特徴的です。
断崖絶壁だらけのペニダ島なので、ここでも絶壁を見下ろしての下山となり、さらに過酷なことに、険しい石段とロープで崖の様な壁を降ります。
帰りはこれを登るので体力に自信のない方はおすすめできないかも。。。
階段は崖を掘って作られたため雰囲気抜群！
石灰岩なので白い粉が舞い、勾配がきつく、ビーチへ近づいていくと階段ではなく崖を降りる感じなのでロープに捕まって降りてくださいね。
また、少し滑りやすようなのであまりビーチサンダルはおすすめしません。
ビーチへ着くと、柔らかく真っ白な砂浜が迎えてくれます。
ヤシの木にくくりつけられた長いブランコや有料のインスタスポットなどもあります。
ちょうど、ダイヤモンドビーチから丘を挟んだ反対側にはアトゥビーチがあります。
こちらでも長くきつい階段を降りて辿り着くビーチなので、体力のある方はぜひ行ってみてください♪

About an hour’s drive from the port, you’ll find Diamond Beach and Atuh Beach.
Diamond Beach requires an entrance fee and is famous for its crystal-clear blue waters, white sand, and sharp, triangular rocks resembling diamonds. Like many places on Nusa Penida, reaching the beach involves descending steep cliffs, but this spot is even more challenging, with rough stone steps and ropes to help you climb down the rocky walls.
The return climb is equally taxing, so it’s not recommended for those without confidence in their physical fitness. The staircase carved directly into the cliff creates a unique atmosphere. Made of limestone, the steps release white dust, and as you approach the beach, the stairs give way to a rocky descent requiring the use of ropes. Flip-flops are not ideal—opt for sneakers for better grip.
Once you reach the beach, you’ll be greeted by soft white sand, coconut palm swings, and paid photo spots perfect for Instagram-worthy shots. On the opposite side of the hill from Diamond Beach lies Atuh Beach, accessible via similarly steep stairs. If you’re up for the challenge, it’s worth the trek.
Crystal Bay クリスタル・ベイ｜海の宝石箱
まるで宝石箱をひっくり返したようにキラキラと輝き、色鮮やかな魚たちが泳ぎ回る場所。
穏やかな海と美しいサンゴ礁で知られるシュノーケリングスポットです。
またここは、崖に囲まれていているわけではなく、ホテルやバンガローが建ち並らび、森のようなヤシの木の間を通り抜けた先に見えるビーチ。
砂糖のような白い砂にカラフルなボートが行き交う人里離れた場所。
漁師のアウトリガーボートでビーチからシュノーケリングに出かけるなどアクセスできます。
ビーチベッドやパラソル、お店などもあり、有料のシャワーもあります。

This spot sparkles like an overturned jewelry box, teeming with colorful fish. Known for calm waters and stunning coral reefs, it’s an ideal snorkeling destination.
Unlike the cliff-enclosed beaches, Crystal Bay is more accessible, with hotels and bungalows nearby. A path through palm tree forests leads to the beach, which features sugar-like white sand and colorful boats. You can hire a local fisherman’s outrigger boat for snorkeling excursions.
Amenities include beach beds, umbrellas, shops, and even paid showers, making this spot a relaxing and convenient choice for visitors.

Kelingking Bar and Restaurant
連れて行ってもらったレストランは、しっかりとした木造りの開放的なテラスレストランです。
建物もまだ新しいのかな？衛生的な感じでお店のスタッフ皆さんフレンドリーで親切。
現地でも人気の高いレストランです。
私は今回、Fried Noodle（焼きそば）とオレンジジュースを選びました。
とても美味しく、日本人にちょうど良い味付け♪
他にも、ナシゴレン（インドネシア風炒飯）や新鮮なシーフードを使ったメニュー、南国フルーツジュースなど、美しく盛り付けられお料理と本場のインドネシア料理の味を楽しめます。
今回我慢したけど、普通にコンビニにもあるアイスバー（棒のやつ）が沢山あり、この暑い中で食べるアイスは格別だろうなーと、ほとんどの人がアイス食べてました♪

The restaurant I visited had a spacious wooden terrace with a modern, clean atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. This popular local spot offered delicious food, and I chose fried noodles and fresh orange juice, both perfectly seasoned for Japanese tastes.
Other options included Nasi Goreng (Indonesian fried rice), fresh seafood dishes, and tropical fruit juices, all beautifully presented. Though I resisted the temptation, many people were enjoying ice bars from a local convenience store, a perfect treat in the heat.
Road｜道路
Roads on Nusa Penida ペニダ島での道について
正直、ペニダ島ではバイクなんで思わずに、ドライバーさんを付けるのが一番おすすめです。
道という道がほとんどないと思ってください。
所々にコンクリート舗装された道もあるにはあるのですが、未開拓地と開拓中の道が入り混じり、ボコボコ道と島中が高低差の激しい丘というか岩の道です。
激しいアップダウンの舗装されていない道を、現地のドライバーさんはアクセル踏みまくって進んで行くのですが、運転のプロじゃないとほぼ無理です。
映画ワイルドスピードのような、砂漠サファリ（砂漠を4WDでドライブするアトラクション）ドライブです。
特に、Broken Bay（ブローケンベイ）からKelingking Beach（クリンキンビーチ）に行く道は、地図で見ると近いように見えるだけど、がたがた道に、坂道、急斜面、くねり坂のため1時間かかる道のりです。
しかも、観光客が多ければ多いほどみんな同じ方向へ向かい、一台ずつ並んで猛スピードで走ってます。
急斜面もみんな一台ずつ登っていくんだけど、見てるだけで光景が怖い！
楽しいとか思えない、、、まさに命懸けのドライブ。
「車ひっくり返っちゃうよ。滑って落ちちゃうよ。前後車並んでみんな進んでくけど、ぶつかっちゃうよ！」と、不安いっぱい。
ドライバーもガイドも、「ダメな時はダメな時、何度も行けてるから行けるよっ」と、結構真剣な顔で突き進んでいきますけどー。
細い道では、車２台交差は無理でしょっ！て道でもなんかめちゃくちゃ猛スピードです。
ペニダ島で初めて気づいたんですけど、車って急斜面も多少飛び跳ねても壊れないようです。
４WD最強！そして現地のドライバーさんはみんなプロですか？と、素晴らしいドライバー力です。
多分、現地でも、道についてはなんとかしないとと考えてるんでしょうね。。ところどころで道を整備しようとしてる痕跡は見えます。
ただ、連日多くの観光客で、整備が進まないまま毎日この道を使わざる得ないのだとは思います。
こうやって無事車のアトラクションから生還し今度は歩いて危険ゾーンを超え、たどり着いた先には、頑張って良かったと思える絶景スポットが待っているのです。
スリルを味わいたい人は、とっても楽しいのかもしれません。
島全土がこれだけ魅力的で冒険に適したところもそうありませんが、現在リゾート地として開拓中の場所が多いので、そう遠くない未来にインフラがもっと整備されて、訪れやすくなるかも知れません。

Traveling by motorbike on Nusa Penida is not advisable—hiring a driver is highly recommended. The island’s roads are barely roads at all. While some areas are paved with concrete, most consist of rough, bumpy paths mixed with steep hills and rocky terrain.
The journey from Broken Bay to Kelingking Beach, for example, looks short on a map but takes about an hour due to the uneven roads, steep inclines, and sharp curves. The roads become even more challenging with heavy tourist traffic, as cars race along narrow paths in single file. Watching this scene can be nerve-wracking, with steep climbs and tight passes making it feel like a life-or-death adventure.
Local drivers, however, are experts, navigating these roads like pros. Their skills make it possible to traverse what might seem impossible to the untrained eye. The vehicles are sturdy, capable of handling jumps and steep inclines, proving that 4WD is king here.
Efforts to improve the roads are visible, but with so many daily visitors, progress is slow. Despite the rough conditions, every dangerous path leads to breathtaking views that make the effort worthwhile.
For thrill-seekers, this experience might even be part of the fun. With so many adventurous and scenic spots, Nusa Penida is a paradise for explorers. As the island develops, infrastructure will likely improve, making it even more accessible in the future.

奇跡の海 ヌサペニダ海域
バリ島の東20kmに位置するペニダ島、レンボガン島、チュニガン島のポイントは、美しく豊なサンゴと年間を通してマンタ遭遇率90％のマンタポイントが有名です。
7月から10月の間にはバリの名物、巨大マンボウが深い海から浅場に上がってくるなど、バリ島で一番きれいな海といっても良いほど素晴らしい海の生き物に出会えます。
MANTA RAY｜マンタレイ
ペニダ島（ヌサペニダ）の南部の位置にあるマンタレイはマンタが見られるマンタ・ポイントとして有名です。なんとここではブラックマンタにも出会えるとか。マンタは一般的に深い海域に生息していますが、この地点では浅瀬にも姿を現し、体長が4メートル以上にも達する巨大なマンタと一緒に泳ぐことができます。また、マンタはおとなしく、好奇心旺盛で人なつこい性格ですが、生態は、まだまだ不明な点が多いのでガイドの誘導にしかがって一緒に泳いでください。マンタはプランクトンを食べながら、グルグル旋回するような泳ぎをしますので、特に何もしなくても近くで泳ぐことが可能だそうです。

Located in the southern part of Nusa Penida, Manta Point is famous as one of the best places to encounter manta rays. Here, you may even have the rare chance to see a black manta. Manta rays are known for their calm and curious nature, making them friendly towards divers. However, since much of their behavior remains a mystery, it is essential to follow your guide’s instructions while swimming with them. Mantas feed on plankton and often swim in graceful circular motions, meaning divers can observe them up close without much effort.

At rocky or coral beaches, marine shoes are a must-have item! Mine has pink stripes on them. While sandals are fine on sandy beaches, I switch to these shoes when entering the sea. Not only do they protect my feet, but they also help preserve Okinawa’s coral reefs by avoiding any damage.

The ports have bungalows and shops, but they are still under development, giving them a somewhat unfinished feel. However, there are cafes where you can take a short break before boarding the boat. In recent years, the area has grown in popularity as a tourist destination. The locals are friendly, and the overall security is good. However, some areas may be less populated, especially at night, so caution is advised. Although rare, there have been occasional reports of pickpocketing and theft targeting tourists. Therefore, it’s essential to manage your valuables carefully.

ペニダ島はバリ島より小さく、レンボンガン島とチュニンガン島に並び３つの中で一番大きな石灰岩からなる離島。雨季と乾季があるサバナ気候で、島の北部から西部にかけての海域にはサンゴ礁が広がり、東部や西部、南部は絶景の景色や秘境ビーチ多く点在しています。名前の由来は、古代ジャワ語で石灰や石灰岩という意味するパニダがペニダに訛ったという説。
Nusa Penida is smaller than Bali but is the largest of three limestone islands, including Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan. The island experiences a savanna climate with distinct rainy and dry seasons. Coral reefs stretch across the waters from the northern to the western parts of the island, while the eastern, western, and southern areas are dotted with breathtaking landscapes and hidden beaches. The island’s name is believed to have originated from the ancient Javanese word Panida, meaning limestone, which evolved into Penida over time.

Please avoid diving on the day of your return. After finishing a dive, do not go to high altitudes until the nitrogen in your body has been released. It is recommended to wait at least 18 hours, preferably 24 hours, before boarding a flight.
