沖縄には数えきれないビーチが存在していますが、
その中でも、海の透明度・景色・白砂や珊瑚の美しいビーチ・スキンダイビングスポットしてお気に入りの場所があります。
今回、慶良間諸島にある透明抜群の海を持つハナリ島（無人島）を紹介。

This time, let’s introduce Hanari Island, an uninhabited island within the Kerama Islands, renowned for its exceptionally transparent waters.

慶良間諸島に属する小さな無人島「ハナリ島」。
※「離島」と書いてハナリ島と呼びます。

In Tokashiki Island, there are two famous beaches: Aharen Beach and Tokashiki Beach.
Aharen Beach is the one to visit.As for transportation options on Tokashiki Island, you can utilize buses, rental cars, taxis, and more.

ハナリ島海域について The waters surrounding Hanari Island
周辺の海域は風の影響が浮きにくく、波は比較的穏やかです。
海底の砂やサンゴが巻き上げられることもあまりなく、透明度やコンディションの高い海を楽しむことができます。
また、水深は大体3〜6メートル位と浅め。
潜るだけで色とりどりの熱帯魚達に出会えると、初心者でも簡単にダイビングが楽しめるスポットとして有名です。
The surrounding waters are less affected by the wind, resulting in relatively calm waves.
It’s uncommon for sand or coral from the seabed to be stirred up, allowing for a high level of transparency and favorable conditions to enjoy the sea.
Moreover, the water depth is generally shallow, ranging from about 3 to 6 meters. This spot is renowned for being beginner-friendly, as diving here offers an easy encounter with a variety of colorful tropical fish just by diving, making it enjoyable even for novices.
海底 The seabed
海底は浅瀬で砂地になっています。
サンゴ礁や岩礁には、色鮮やかな魚たちが常にちらちらと泳ぎ周っています。
ぶつかってサンゴを傷つけないように気をつけてくださいね。
浅瀬ですが、岩場も多く、時々潮の流れも強くなることがあるので注意してね。
The seabed consists of shallow sandy areas.
Colorful fish are always darting around coral reefs and rocky areas.
Please be cautious not to bump into the coral and cause damage.Although it’s shallow, there are many rocky areas, and at times, the tide currents can become strong, so please be mindful and cautious.

島に近づき舟から見えてきたのは真っ白い砂に尖った一つの岩山。
こちらの白砂に舟をつけていよいよ上陸です！
As we approached the island by boat, what came into view was a sharp, white-sanded solitary rocky mountain.
We anchored the boat on this pristine white sand, ready at last to make our landing!
How to spend time | 過ごし方
ハナリ島は冒頭でもお話した通り、誰もいない無人島のため手付かずの自然を満喫できます。
珊瑚も生き生きとしているため周辺の海域は物凄く透明度の高い海。
その透明感に感動し、さらに浅瀬のため美しい珊瑚とお魚を身近に楽しめるポイントとなっています。
また、島の先端は綺麗な砂浜となり海との境に立つことができます。
この小さな島にはちょっとした山を登り上からの景色も最高です。
あるので海に潜るだけでなく陸で遊んでゆっくり過ごすこともおすすめです。
ハナリ島に渡る前に準備は渡嘉敷島の阿波連ビーチで行いましょう。
隣接した島とはさほど距離はありませんが孤立型の無人島です。
そのためハナリ島には売店やトイレ等の施設はないので、島に渡る前に済ませておくか飲料物は持参するのがおすすめです。
またここは、渡し舟のドライバーさんやライフガードの人が注意喚起とライフジャケット着用の指示はしてくれますが
島自体には一般的なビーチと違って、トイレやシャワー、売店といった施設やライフガードのいる監視塔がないので全て自己管理となりますので、事故などには十分気をつけてくださいね。
Hanari Island, as mentioned earlier, is an uninhabited island where you can fully immerse yourself in untouched nature. The surrounding waters boast incredible transparency due to the vividly alive corals.
This clarity of the water allows for a close and delightful experience with beautiful corals and fish, especially in the shallow areas, leaving a lasting impression.
Furthermore, the tip of the island forms a beautiful sandy beach, offering an opportunity to stand at the boundary between land and sea.
Climbing a small hill on this island provides a breathtaking view from the top. Hence, besides diving into the sea, taking time to explore and relax on land is also highly recommended.
Before heading to Hanari Island, it’s advisable to make preparations at Aharen Beach on Tokashiki Island.
Although it’s not far from the adjacent island, Hanari is an isolated, uninhabited island.
As there are no facilities like shops or restrooms on Hanari Island, it’s best to take care of these needs beforehand or bring your own drinks.
Moreover, while the boat drivers and lifeguards at the ferry will provide instructions regarding safety measures and wearing life jackets, Hanari Island differs from regular beaches.
It lacks facilities like toilets, showers, shops, or lifeguard towers. Therefore, everything requires self-management.
Please be extra cautious and mindful to prevent accidents or mishaps.

岩場や珊瑚でできたビーチではマリンシューズが必須アイテム！ 私のはピンクのラインが入ったマリンシューズです♪ 砂場のビーチではサンダルですが、海に入る際はこちらに履き替えます。自分の足を守るだけでなく、沖縄のサンゴ礁を傷つけない為にも履くようにしましょう！
At rocky or coral beaches, marine shoes are a must-have item! Mine has pink stripes on them. While sandals are fine on sandy beaches, I switch to these shoes when entering the sea. Not only do they protect my feet, but they also help preserve Okinawa’s coral reefs by avoiding any damage.

せっかくならシュノーケルをして綺麗な珊瑚とお魚に出会いましょう。塩水は目に入るととても痛いので海を入る際はマスクが必須です。マスクは曇り止めをしてこまめにして状態を良くしておきましょう。
Why not enjoy snorkeling to encounter beautiful corals and fish? Since saltwater in the eyes can be quite painful, wearing a mask is essential when entering the sea. Keep the mask defogged regularly to ensure clear visibility.

立ち泳ぎだけでは物足りないならフィンをつけて泳いでみて♪深い海でも浅い海でも、フィンがあればスムーズに潜ることができます。特にここハナリ島海域は初心者にも嬉しい浅瀬で美しい珊瑚やお魚に簡単に触れることができます。
If you find just treading water isn’t enough excitement, try swimming with fins! Whether in deep or shallow waters, fins allow for smooth diving. Especially in the Hanari Island area, with its beginner-friendly shallow depths, you can easily explore and interact with beautiful corals and fish.

The world of Kerama Blue is vast and stunning, allowing you to swim freely and feel like a mermaid!
Beneath the sea lie fine white sands, beautiful coral reefs, and if you’re lucky, you might encounter colorful and adorable fish swimming around the coral.
If fortune favors you, you might even meet a turtle.
This spectacular sight owes its existence to the warm climate and abundant nature that have created a mosaic of beauty thanks to the coral.
When diving underwater, please swim safely and refrain from disturbing the environment to maintain its pristine condition.
お魚さんに餌をあげるのにパンをチョイスしている方がいますが、お麩をおすすめします。パンだとボロボロパラパラと散ってしまうのであまり食べれないようですが、沖縄のお麩は少し硬めなので崩れにくく移動時に濡れても散らばることがありません。
あと、あげる時にはお魚さんに合わせて小さく小さくちぎって撒いてくださいね。たくさんのお魚さんが寄ってきますよ♡
Some people choose bread to feed the fish, but I recommend using Okinawan Okara (tofu refuse) instead. Bread tends to crumble into small pieces, making it challenging for the fish to eat. On the other hand, Okinawan Okara is a bit firmer, making it less likely to break apart even when wet or transported. When offering the feed, tear the Okara into small, bite-sized pieces that suit the fish. You’ll attract many fish this way!
About Marine Creatures | 海の生き物
抜群の透明度の海は世界に誇る慶良間諸島の象徴ともいえます。
そのため豊富な種類の生物が潜むこことでも知られていて、多くのダイバーさん達にも人気です。
美しい海の中の写真がたくさん撮れることもあり、photo spotとしてもおすすめです。
一番よく撮影されているのは可愛くて人気のカクレクマノミさん。
ハナリ島はカクレクマノミさんが多く生息し、鮮やかな色を際立たせサンゴの中で発見できます。
しかもサンゴ中にいる時は止まっていることが多いのでぜひ写真に納めてみてください。
近づくと警戒して穴に入ったり隙間に隠れたりする魚や生物はたくさんいますが、お花も隠れるようで面白い海の花もいます。
手を出すと引っ込んじゃいますが、そおっと近づいてぜひ覗いてみてください。
慶良間ならではの紫＆オレンジの派手な配色のいきものはカラフルなサンゴの中に隠れるために同配色だったり、ハナリで有名なのがヒトスジギンポというなんか不思議な生きものです。
ダイビングや海の生物に興味のある方は、ウルトラマンホヤやニセアカホシカクレエビ、カンザシヤドカリなど多数生息している海なのでかなり楽しめるスポットかと思います。

Besides, it’s also a highly recommended photo spot due to the abundance of beautiful underwater scenery.
One of the most commonly captured marine creatures in these waters is the adorable and beloved clownfish.
Hanari Island is abundant with these clownfish, showcasing their vibrant colors amid the corals.
When in the corals, they often stay still, providing an excellent opportunity for photography.
While many fish and creatures might hide in crevices or retreat when approached, there are fascinating ‘sea flowers’ that seem to hide like blossoms.
Though they might retract if you reach out, it’s intriguing to gently approach and peek.
The unique purple and orange-colored creatures in the Kerama region often camouflage themselves within the colorful corals.
One of the famous species in Hanari Island is the mysterious creature called the ‘Hitosuji-ginpo.’ For those interested in diving or marine life, spots like Hanari are quite enjoyable due to the presence of numerous species such as the ‘Ultraman Hoya,’ ‘False Cleaner Shrimp,’ and ‘Hermit Crabs with Striped Legs.
How to get to | 行き方
阿波連ビーチにはいくつもレンタルショップや売店が存在し渡舟やボートの手配も現地で直接行えます。
ダイビングショップや売店が所狭しと立ち並らび、料金の差はほとんどありません。
ボートは基本2名から運行。
At Aharen Beach, there are several rental shops and stores available, where you can arrange for ferry or boat services directly on-site.
Diving shops and stores are lined up in close proximity, and there’s little difference in pricing among them.

さらに、インスタ映えで人気のバナナボートや体力が若干必要なシーカヤックやSUPでハナリ島へ行くマリンアクティビティが人気です♪
渡嘉敷島阿波連ビーチはお店が多く、ランチのできるレストランも沢山あります。
For those seeking a more immersive experience in the sea, there are boat-entry options guided by instructors departing from the harbor.
The marine activities such as banana boat rides, slightly demanding sea kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) are popular choices for reaching Hanari Island!
Aharen Beach on Tokashiki Island offers numerous shops and plenty of restaurants where you can have lunch.

那覇泊港から渡嘉敷島に行く手段は「フェリーとかしき」と「マリンライナーとかしき」の２つ。
フェリーでは景色が存分に楽しめるよう開放的なつくりになっており、マリンライナーは比較的新しい構造の船となっています。どちらも快適な船の旅を味わえます。
There are two means of transportation from Naha Tomari Port to Tokashiki Island: the ‘Ferry Tokashiki’ and the ‘Marine Liner Tokashiki’.
The ferry offers an open design allowing passengers to fully enjoy the scenery, while the marine liner features a relatively new and modern structure. Both provide a comfortable and enjoyable sea journey.
渡嘉敷島内の移動は坂道や山道が多いのでバスや車、タクシーを使うのがおすすめです。
- バス：定期的に運行しています。安く移動ができシーズン中は行列ができるほどですが循環良く運行しています。
- レンタカー：少し割り高ですが、渡嘉敷港でレンタルショップがいくつかあります。
港に着いたらレンタカーの看板を持って立っている担当者がいます。
残っている台数で当日直接レンタルでき、今回は事前予約なく現地でそのまま借りることができました。
シーズン中はレンタル台数に限りがあるようなので、事前予約をおすすめします。 - タクシー：数件あるそうですがシーズンのみの営業みたいです。こちらも事前予約で確認してください。
- ショップ（体験ダイビング）：船が渡嘉敷の港に着く時間に合わせてショップの方が車で迎えに来てくれます。
Transportation within Tokashiki Island is recommended by using buses, cars, or taxis due to the many slopes and mountainous paths.
Bus: Runs regularly, offering an affordable means of transportation. During peak seasons, queues may form, but they operate efficiently in a loop.
Rental Car: There are several rental shops at Tokashiki Port. When you arrive at the port, you’ll find representatives holding signs for rental cars. Depending on the availability, you can rent directly on the same day without prior reservation. However, during peak seasons, there might be limited availability, so it’s advisable to make reservations in advance.
Taxi: There are a few taxi services available, seemingly operational only during the tourist seasons. It’s recommended to confirm availability through prior reservations.
Shops (for Experience Diving): Dive shops often arrange to pick you up by car at Tokashiki Port upon the arrival of the ferry.

Once, Okinawa was an independent country known as the Ryukyu Kingdom. It endured the era of the Ryukyu Dynasty for approximately 450 years from around 1429 until the abolition of feudal domains in 1875 (Meiji 8), when it became ‘Okinawa Prefecture’ in 1879. Subsequently, for approximately 27 years from 1945 (Showa 20) to 1972 (Showa 47), Okinawa was under American governance. During this period, the currency used was not the yen but the dollar, and cars were left-hand drive, with right-hand traffic as the norm. Passport and travel documents were necessary for travel between Okinawa and mainland Japan. Finally, on May 15, 1972, through the ‘Agreement between Japan and the United States of America concerning the Ryukyu Islands and the Daito Islands,’ Okinawa was returned to Japan, marking its restoration.
